Studies show that sex is good!
by Tim Faircloth on Mar 25, 2008, 10:17 am
…but articles like this just remind me of my current romantic situation. I doubt I’ll have sex tonight (as the title of the article suggests I should) or any night for some time.
I’m beginning to see why so many people don’t like living in small towns — the dating pool is tiny. Moreover, in a town where bars and churches are on a one-to-one ratio, the chances of finding a worthwhile girl are even slimmer (interpret that as you will).
Le sigh. I guess it doesn’t help that I haven’t been in the dating game for more than two weeks since I first met my ex-fiance six and a half years ago. I’m currently working on a stretch of four weeks of single life, and I think it kinda sucks.
Oh well… in the next few weeks I’ll either get used to it or find a girl, I’m sure. I did spend the first 21 years of my life alone and I survived.
Happy (early) Easter
by Tim Faircloth on Mar 19, 2008, 9:25 am
What’s the Easter Bunny doing the other 364 days out of the year?
Also, it appears that easter may be a tad late this year since we have to find a replacement:

Oh, and by the way...

The weekend before last I was in Saint Simon’s Island for my cousin’s bachelor party. Monday morning I was standing on the back porch when I looked up and saw this:

Yeah, yeah, it’s a crappy picture. I took it with my phone since there wasn’t a proper camera available. However, if you look closely right in the middle of the picture you’ll see (drumroll, please)… a bald eagle! Apparently something behind him caught his attention as I snapped this pic.
I wasn’t sure at first because I’d seen seagulls with similar coloration, but when he flew off I noticed that his wingspan was bigger than any gull’s wingspan would be.
Too bad my cousin was in the can. He missed a rare sight.
Happy Birthday, James Taylor!
by Tim Faircloth on Mar 12, 2008, 11:34 am
James Vernon Taylor, famed singer-songwriter, was born 60 years ago today.
To commemorate, here’s the lyrics to my favorite JT song (which I plan to use as a lullaby someday).
Sweet Baby James
written and performed by James Taylor, released in 1970
There was a young cowboy who lived on the range.
His horse and his cattle are his only companions.
He works in the saddle and he sleeps in the canyon,
Waiting for summer, his pastures to change…
And as the moon rises, he sits by his fire,
Thinking about women and glasses of beer.
Closing his eyes as the doggies retire,
He sings out a song which is soft but it’s clear,
as if maybe someone could hear.
(Chorus)
Oh, goodnight, you moonlight ladies.
Rockabye, sweet baby James.
Deep greens and blues are the colors I choose.
Won’t you let me go down in my dreams.
And rockabye, sweet baby James.
Now the first of December was covered with snow.
So was the turnpike from Stockbridge to Boston.
Oh, the Berkshires seemed dreamlike on account of that frosting,
With ten miles behind me, and ten thousand more to go.
There’s a song that they sing when they take to the highways.
A song that they sing when they take to the sea.
A song that they sing of their home in the sky.
Maybe you can believe it if it helps you to sleep,
But singing works just fine for me.
(Chorus)
Obligatory personal life post

So… I’m single now.
Perhaps it’s a shock to most of you, but not two either of us.
Quite.
I feel as if this site is my sounding board to the world (or at least to all who care to tune in), but at times I feel restricted as to what I can post. Now is one of those times.
Then again, if you feel an overwhelming curiosity (and if you know my email address, haha), feel free to drop me a line and chances are I’ll answer questions if I see fit to answer them.
